Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)

Holders of the DTV allows holders are allowed to stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per entry and is valid for 5 years. (Multiple Entry Visa)
Known as the “digital nomad visa,” the DTV can be used if you are a freelancer, digital nomad, or remote worker. 
Alternatively, you can also qualify for this visa if you plan to participate in so-called “Thai Soft Power” activities. 
You are eligible for the Thailand DTV Visa if you plan to attend Thai boxing or cooking classes, participate in sports training, undergo medical treatments, take short-term educational courses, take part in seminars, or join artistic or musical festivals.



The applicant must fall into one of these categories:
- Workcation: Digital Nomads, Remote Workers, Freelancers
- Registered participants in Thai Soft Power activities such as:
     Muay Thai courses
     Thai cooking classes
     Sport training
     Medical treatment
     Seminars
     Music festivals
- Spouse and dependent children of DTV holders

You have to apply for the DTV visa at your local Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate.

You can extend the DTV visa for a 180-day period at the immigration office in Phuket Town once per year.


Prerequisite for the DTV extension are:
- Valid Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) without overstay.
- Up to date address registration.  
 
Required papers:
- Completely filled in TM 7 form. 
- STM2
- Overstay Acknowledgement

Copies from following passport pages:
- Detail page
- DTV page or original E-Visa
- Last entry stamp
- TM6 departure card (If applicable)

Passport size picture.


Remote worker / Digital Nomad / Freelancer

Financial evidence : 
Thai or verified foreign bank account (can be combined) with at least 500.000 baht balance for at least 30 days prior the application date
OR
Financial certificate from company or employer of at least 500.000 Bah at date of the application, 
Showing the relationship between the guarantor and applicant. 

Updated work contract showing abroad work to confirm that this is still in effect on the application date. 

Accommodation confirmation in Thailand (hotel, condominium payments) or rent payment for house stay with copy of Chanote certificated by the house or condominium owner. 

Participant of other activities such as Muay Thai / Martial arts, Culinary, Medical care, Art and Music performance 

Financial evidence : 
Thai or verified foreign bank account (can be combined) with at least 500.000 baht balance for at least 30 days prior the application date
OR
Financial certificate from company or employer of at least 500.000 Baht at date of the application, 
Showing the relationship between the guarantor and applicant. 

Evidence/Certificate of activity :                  
Government recognized activities (Muay Thai, Martial Arts etc)
Request letter for extension application from government recognized organization.                 
Medical care
Medical certificate from a hospital or government medical institute                 
Government recognized training and seminars
Government invitation letter and acceptance letter for the participant of the event valid on the date of the application.                 

Government recognized art and music exhibitions
Certificate from Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) 
Activities photographs of the applicant.  

Accommodation confirmation in Thailand (hotel, condominium payments) or rent payment for house stay with copy of Chanote certificated by the house or condominium owner.  

DTV holder Dependents Spouse and legitimate children under the age of 20

Proof of relationship such as birth certificate, Marriage or adoption papers.   

Accommodation confirmation in Thailand (hotel, condominium payments) or rent payment for house stay with copy of Chanote certificated by the house or condominium owner.
